Social Media Coordinator [Canada]


 

Aspire for Higher (A4H) is a grassroots non-profit organization that uses sports to engage, empower, and educate youth and young people from all communities and backgrounds.

We are looking for a creative and dynamic social media manager to join our team and help us increase our social media following on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. The ideal candidate will have a passion for social media and an understanding of the nuances of each platform, as well as a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion in healthcare.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute social media strategies to increase A4H Sport's following and engagement on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.
  • Create compelling and visually appealing content, including graphics, videos, and infographics, that aligns with A4H's mission and values.
  • Manage the A4H social media calendar, including scheduling and posting regular updates, responding to comments and messages, and monitoring analytics.
  • Collaborate with the A4H Sports team to create engaging campaigns and initiatives that promote sports programming, advanced training, mentorship and wellness among young audiences .
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities for growth and engagement on A4H’s social media platforms.
  • Engage with the A4H community on social media and build relationships with influencers and thought leaders to increase awareness of A4H Sports and our mission and activities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or pursuing studies in communications, marketing, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience managing social media platforms for a brand or organization.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for detail and a knack for storytelling.
  • Proficiency in social media management tools, such as Hootsuite or Sprout Social, as well as graphic design tools, such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience in youth sports or a strong interest in basketball, wellness and youth mentorship
  • Knowledge of social media analytics and metrics, with the ability to analyze data and use insights to inform social media strategy.
